20 Dec

Ah, I must cherish these days of parties, hearing carols everywhere, secret santas, wishlist writing, and present shopping… for it’ll be a long time before I can do it again.

I am so glad it’s almost Christmas! <3

Our self-induced pain, misunderstandings, and jumping to conclusions.

20 Dec

I wonder how much self-induced pain, suffering, despair, and sadness are caused by our own hotheaded stubbornness, spontaneous rage, and clouded turgid minds through sudden misunderstanding and our own interpretation or jumping to conclusions about the ways things are and what someone else did. Before plunging yourself into a world of despair and desolation and pain, avoid all that by figuring things out entirely before only looking at one piece of the puzzle and assuming what happened. People are more complicated than that, people have their reasons for doing things, and though they may not have done the best things they could have in that situation, they definitely tried to do what they thought was best according to their values and morals. So don’t just blame or scapegoat people before you know the whole picture or what they intended to happen.

Moon River

20 Dec

Moon river, wider than a mile
I’m crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you’re goin’, I’m goin’ your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after the same rainbow’s end, waitin’ ’round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me

(Moon River, wider than a mile)
(I’m crossin’ you in style some day)
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you’re goin’, I’m goin’ your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after that same rainbow’s end, waitin’ ’round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me…

the attainment of perfection.

19 Dec

There is no such thing as perfect in this world. The average person admires perfection and seeks to obtain it. But what is the point of achieving perfection? There is none…nothing… Not a single thing. If something is perfect, there is nothing left. There is no room for imagination, no room for further excellence. No place left for a person to gain additional knowledge or abilities. It is where effort stops, where one gives up striving to be better…there can no longer be any further effort to try to become better, because there is nothing better. One becomes stuck, stuck in a world where one is the god, the top being, in a world of only yourself. How terrible that is, how terrible that can be… People must strive to be better than they originally were, better than maybe even anything or anyone else in the world, but never, ever to obtain perfection. For those people who must always strive to be more wonderful or create more wonderful things than anything or anyone else before them, perfection only brings despair. Once you become perfect, you are nothing. Everything stops. You are no longer a part of the world any longer, a ghost in a cage…you have become dead. Unable to improve further, you only work to keep that perfection.
